Timex Men's Expedition Digital Watch #T42431

Timex Men's Expedition Digital Watch #T42431 Review

4.5 stars. Watch is clean and attractive in its design and easy to read. Strap seems first quality. I was able to set it up and work most of the features intuitively without reading the instructions. Will report back if I have any durability issues.

Cons:
Pressing the Indigo only lights up the watch for about 2 seconds. Would REALLY like an option to set the light to say 2, 5 or 10 seconds (or something like that). The indigo button is also a bit small. I see on some models the button is large and on the face of the watch. I bet this would be more convenient, particularly if you are doing some sort of athletic activity (ie cycling) at night.

Display great, back and band - not so much - SunnyvaleJim - CA

I have had this watch for about two years. All the watch functions work fine. I like the display and look.

The band, however, while looking good, is not durable. It breaks where the buckle/clasp is at. The combo
fabric/leather layer band , and large holes for the buckle tang, make for a very weak point.

And to make it worse, the band has a unique way to connect to the case with interlocking plastic/rubber tabs, and 2 screwws.

I have yet to find a replacement band anything like this.

Last, the back seems to bother (skin develops a rash) my skin more than my other watches - it states
stainless but perhaps there are different grades of stainless backs.

I a good watch, it was gift to someone else. - C. AYALA - los angeles, ca
I bought this for my uncle he is in El Salvador, I had a similar watch the reason why I bought is because it's easy to clean and had a leather strap with it. My uncle only like digital display watches, he has had for a while and so far he has not had a complain about it. I myself think is a good watch for everyday things specially if you work with your hands.

handsome watch but not ergonomic - M. - Philly
The button that illuminates the face is too small, is recessed into the watch, and is hard to push. So it is almost useless when you need it most --- in the dark-- because it is hard to find and press. The other buttons (4 more of them!) are small and equally hard to press. So it is difficult to operate this watch with cold or tired figures: so much for being suitable for an "Expedition". Requires many button presses of multiple buttons to find the various functions (timer, stop-watch, alarms, calendar reminder), to set them, and then to start them. Not for the hurried or distracted. Why doesn't Timex bring back the digital watch with a single knob (crown set) : that was so intuitive and easy to use, easy to find, and easy to illuminate the watch too!
